A very controversial law that has recently been ruled constitutional is the law on proposition 8. If voting to pass this law then you are against the rights for gay people to be married. If voting to ban this law then you are in favor. A good quantity of people agree that this is going against their religion and it would be uneffable to think that homosexuals can get married in a church. The law was originaly passed during the recent elections due to majority vote, but has been in dispute in the judicial system for a number of times.
I particularly think this law should not be passed because it is against the free will of the peoppe who choose to do so. For one thing, if the couple love eachother, why not give them the ability to be bonded together for ever. This wont hurt anybody anyways. I think that the law was purposly written in a confusing manner to trick those who may not have carefully read the ballot. A number of people think that voting yes on it gives homosexuals the right to get married, but this is not the case. What is unconstitutional is the fact that the governmemt is taking away an essential right from an enormous amount of its people. Basically these people want to be treated equal, is that not the foundation of this nation? Apperantly not.
