A likely contender for the Republican Party presidential nomination is shockingly, Herman Cain. This member of the GOP openly challenged the African American people of the nation to vote Republican by saying that they are "brainwashed" into voting purely democratic, and not even giving a conservative point of view a chance. This spooked up some controversy because it implies that he didn't consider the fact that there are many educated African Americans who enter the polls and vote. This is ironic because Herman Cain is African American himself. Prior to the statement that Democratic African Americans are "Brainwashed, he found himself asking ",Why is the Republican Party basically poison for so many African Americas?" It is interesting to me that it seems he is downgrading the overwhelmingly Democratic black folks, perhaps he would have a severely different opinion on the matter if he was running for the Democratic nomination.
